  This is a follow-up of my first review of Dr. Carlan - which was not favorable due to what I determined to be a lack of communication of some very necessary information, such as, the type of procedure to be performed. That said, a year and a half after surgery - I am thrilled with the results!
  
  Dr. Carlan is a truly capable surgeon. I have had multiple hand surgeries before, but none that turned out as well as did my double carpal tunnel release performed by Dr. Carlan. There is NO scarring - and no underlying scar tissue, either. There is no residual nerve pain. The effects of the carpal tunnel syndrome have entirely abated! No more tingling or numb fingers, no more loss of grip strength - all of that was corrected by this surgery. I have to say, based on the results I got, I would highly recommend Dr. Carlan to anyone who needs a good hand surgeon. I only gave 4 stars because of the lack of communication about the type of procedure to be performed and what to expect after surgery. Ask questions - either he or Robert (his assistant) will answer them.
